Vanilla Crème Cake

Yesterday, I was bored out of my mind and decided to bake a cake plus i've been wanting to try and make pastry cream. So, Why Not?! Don't think I'm the fanciest baker, I just used boxed vanilla cake and made the pastry cream from scratch. *moon side eye* But you can check out the sugar cookies I made a few days ago; I promise those aren't boxed cookies. It's like big valentine heart candies, so, so, cute. #quecute

Recipe for Pastry Crème:

4 egg yolk

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 cup flour

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp Vanilla

2 cups of milk

2 tbsp butter

Lemon Zest (optional)

| Beat eggs, then add sugar. Mix until it is creamy. Add flour, cinnamon, and vanilla until smoothly incorporated to mixture. Incorporate milk slowly and melted butter, keep beating until smooth. Take to low heat and mix, mix, mix, until it is a jelly type consistency. As for the lemon zest you can incorporate when milk is added. Until you have the desired consistency transfer to a container and add a plastic film on top touching the cream so it doesn't create that layer on top.
